Girl, Shave Your Face
I'll never forget the day I was told I had a mustache. As a 15 year old girl, that bit of info is life-ending, soul-crushing, Seventeen Magazine horror-story-column news you're just not prepared to hear. I wanted to crawl into a Morrisey-induced coma and DIE. Back in those days, or at least where I was from, no one was talking about removing facial hair. So I put on a stiff-upper lip (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?) and kept on truckin', in hopes that no one else would ever notice and it would just magically disappear. SPOILER ALERT - it didn't.

I was having lunch with a girlfriend a few years ago and told her this story. Her face starting beaming with joy, as she had information that was about to save my life. She told me about a YouTube clip by one my fave Bachelor contestants of all time - Michelle Money - where she bares it all and shaves her face for everyone to see with this little gadget you order from Amazon. Ok, I realize some of you might be like "Why couldn't you just wax your face?" And to answer your question, hair needs to be long to wax and my face is HELLA sensitive. There. That's answered. Back to face razors.
So I went home and told my husband that these existed and asked him if he ever noticed my peach fuzz and he said "yes". INSERT "BUY NOW" OPTION ON AMAZON. Long story short - I've been "shaving" my face ever since and I cannot recommend it enough. Not only do you get rid of unwanted facial, you're also exfoliating your skin and your makeup looks soooo much better after you do it!
I order mine in bulk - they sell a pack of 36 for $24.99 and that lasts me FOREVER, as I use each blade twice, and I try to do it every week or two. However, they do sell them in packs of 3 if you want to give it a test run first to see if it's for you.
I definitely recommend washing your face, applying moisturizer and letting it dry completely. Otherwise yo' mug is gonna hate you. It may take your face a few times of doing this before it gets over the shock - mine had a bit of a slight burn at first but no reaction at all now. I'd say if you've done it a few times and you're still feeling it more than you should, try switching to a different product or talk to your dermatologist about options.
I did an entire video tutorial of how I do it on my Instagram Stories a few days ago but I saved it under the highlights under the BEAUTY tab on my page! Basically, just start on one "sideburn", stroking downward under the cheekbone (don't go above that line!) stopping before your chin. Remember to clean off your protected blade often. To do your upper lip area, just "stretch" your lip over your teeth and go to town. I also do my eyebrow area instead of waxing, but I BARELY have eyebrows sooooo...
Anyhoo, give it a try. You may have been doing this all along - OR you just walked to the mirror to look very closely to find that you TOO have a friend living on your top lip you've been giving the cold shoulder to for ENTIRELY too long.
